THE ASHROSS RUMig (Rail car unloading machine-in ground

The AshRoss RUM-IG is the latest rail car unloading system produced by our team of engineers.  Many of our customers did not have a engine to push or pull the rail cars over the RUM and also did not want to dig a big hole in the ground.  We have the solution and that is the RUM-IG.  All you need is a 12' wide by 3 1/2' deep by 50' long hole with some minimal concrete or steel foundation supports and you are ready to unload rail cars.  Our machine in Arkansas unloaded a 100 ton rail car of coal in 7 minutes.  This will allow your organization to unload rail cars quickly and efficiently without breaking the bank.  Please take a look at the video on our home page or check out some pictures posted here.

THE ASHROSS RUM (Rail car unloading machine

The AshRoss RUM is the worlds’ first, low profile, railcar unloading drive over material handling system.  The RUM is portable and self propelled meaning that it can walk itself on to any rail track within minutes and be ready to unload the train.  The RUM sits on the track and the train itself drives over the RUM and unloads into the system.  The RUM can unload most materials at about 1 ton per second (4 to 6 rail cars per hour with moving and other issues) making it extremely efficient and economical.  The RUM is approximately 100 feet long in operation and folds up to approximately 50 feet long for transportation.  The RUM allows the rail industry to unload at any reasonable site (with 120 feet of straight track) because the RUM moves itself after it has completed the unloading process.  Please take a look at the pictures and the videos on the home page and feel free to call us for additional information.

The first low profile, stationary (ST) drive over

unloading system.  Many of our customers have

asked for the 1260 C without all the self propelled

and tow-able features.  The AshRoss ST is the first

mobile system that is meant to sit in one spot to

work with a radial stacker or some other conveyor

stacker.   It is also priced similar to other drive-over

systems currently offered in the market place.

The AshRoss ST makes buying other hopper drive

over systems obsolete.  Those high profile (some as

high as 8 feet in the air) are hard to set up and

use up a large amount of space for the ramps and unit.

The AshRoss ST can be set up and torn down in as little

as 1-2 hours and uses up a minimum amount of space.

The AshRoss ST is also only 32 inches high at the peak on the

ramp.  When its time to move the AshRoss ST, it is easily taken

apart and shipped on any standard low boy 40 foot trailer.

unit for stacking, loading trains, barges or other conveyor

systems, give us a call at 801-785-6464

ROLLER COMPACTED CONCRETE

The AshRoss 1260 recently completed a job on a detention

dam project in which it placed roller compacted concrete.  Here

is a picture of the work site and of our equipment transferring

this material.  The roller compacted concrete was transferred from

the 1260 to a larger conveying systems that placed it on the

detention dam. This allowed the contractor to use belly-dumps

to supply the project saving them hundreds of thousands of dollars in

                   transportation costs.

***AshRoss Engineers designed the original 1260 to

work hand in hand with belly-dump trailers.  Due to

the overwhelming requests by end-dump users

for a hopper that allow end-dumps to empty their load into

AshRoss 1260C drive over system.  We have developed a

end-dump hopper attachment that bolts to the deck of

the 1260C and accepts end-dump style trucks.  End-dump

trucks can back up either side of the ramp separately or

at the same time to empty their content.
